J is for Janice...

Click on the button in my sidebar if you want the information about the A – Z Challenge.

Janice is my baby girl, my only child. She will be 30 years old this year. She is my pride and joy, not only my daughter but also one of my best friends. Her and I started attending church regularly when she was around 4 years old. My brother-in-law and his wife had invited us. I remember one Saturday evening we were on our way over to another brother-in-law’s, where her daddy spent a lot of his time and there was a beautiful sunset. She was sitting in the passenger seat (there were no car seat laws) and she was studying the sky. She casually turned around and looked at me with those big blue eyes shaking her head and said, “Momma I just don’t understand how people do not believe in God, look how pretty!” And I knew right at that moment I was doing something right.

She was always on the shy side as she was growing up but always kept us laughing. I remember one time we were going up to a window to get our hamburgers and I asked for more napkins and the lady said “I am sorry, I should of known with a little one you would need more.” And my daughter politely told her “Oh they are not for me they are for my momma she is the messy one in the family.” I thought the lady was going to fall over from laughing so hard. Yes, that is how it was in our family, so when Eden Jade says something I just smile and say Paybacks!

I know I am prejudiced but my kid was one of the best around. We always got along great even during those trying teenage years. She has never in any way ever disappointed me. She has a heart and love as big as it comes. She married her high school sweetheart at 22 and took on a 3 yr old stepson part time right away with no problems at all. Eden was born in 2006 and she faced that hurdle without even blinking an eye. You can read about them in my C and E post. During the school year they have Cain all the time, so she is a full time mom to 2 and a wife, she works full time and has bought a cake shop. She just finished getting her bachelor’s degree in business online. She has a busy life but never once do you hear her complaining. She is a special person who loves her family and is pretty special in my book!
And of course here are a few pictures:

until next time... nel

  4. Beautiful girl. Daughters are so special! That napkin comment was way too funny. I can hear my youngest saying something like that because I am the messy eater!
