L is for Lusk Farms...

Lusk Farms is located on Cloud Mountain in Scottsville Arkansas. It is along side a dirt road in the country and takes up about 80 acres in the immediate area. Presently there is a double wide on it but in the planning stages there is a house overlooking the valley. Perhaps the double wide will become a guesthouse or a game house for the kids after the main house is built. From the porch of the double wide there is a beautiful view, trees on the outer edges of the field and a pond at the far end with a mountain in the background.

A Dad, a Mom, a Brother and a younger sister occupy Lusk Farms. In a field farther back is a big oak tree; this is where the house will eventually go. For now several sheep live in this field. In the other field where the pond is there are usually several cattle unless they are in one of the other fields below the hill. There are two dogs on the farm, one is a bloodhound Dexter, and the other is a beagle mix that decided he wanted to live there. Also there is a horse Lady, she is usually in the field below the hill.

Deer can be seen periodically in the back field and coyotes can be heard after dark. There is something about sitting on the porch after dark and listening to the coyotes or looking at the stars. Do you realize how many stars you can see when you get away from the city? It is a place of relaxation and fun, and Granny and Papa Stan love to visit. I am so happy for my kids because they call this home.

Each of the kids help with watering and feeding the sheep and dogs.

This is the tree that will be close to the new house. After it is built Clint will thin the trees so they will have a beautiful view of the valley.

As you can tell Dexter has grown alot  in the last 1 1/2 years.

until next time... nel

  1. What a pretty homestead! We're out in the country and have lots of stars and coyotes both. The coyotes howling kinda gives me the heebie jeebies though : )
