H is for Heritage Chapel
What is Heritage Chapel you say? Heritage Chapel Free Will Baptist Church is a wonderful little congregation of believers who love the Lord and are like family. When Stan and I first married and I started looking for a church here in Missouri, preferably a Free Will Baptist, we visited several on my Sunday. I have a hard time making a decision like that, it has to feel right, I have to feel like that is where the Lord wants me. I finally remembered one I had seen when we were moving my things in, and I remembered that feeling when I seen it in passing, but I ignored it because it seemed so far from our house. After I mentioned it to him, he said it is only 10 miles we can try it.  We started going just every other Sunday, then I noticed when it was his Sunday he did not get up to go to his church.  I told him I was not going to miss church so after a couple of Sundays nothing else was said and we started going to Heritage all of the time.  The rest is history.

It was a very small congregation there were only 12 on a good day when we first started. We now average 22 on a good morning. Praise the Lord! We have had some good times and some not so good times as with any church. About 2 months ago our pastor resigned and was gone. We lost the pastor, the piano player, the song leader, and the bulletin maker all at once. Isn’t it amazing how God can take those trials and turn them into blessings with prayers and faith! We now have a new pastor and his wife and the Lord has blessed us with a song leader and piano player. Oh my how she makes that piano talk, what a blessing! Her husband is an awesome song leader we are truly blessed! As far as the bulletin, I volunteered for that job. I didn’t think I had enough to keep me busy, no really I totally enjoy doing things like that.

We had a wonderful service on Easter!  Nothing better than an old fashioned foot washing and communion on a special day.

If you are ever in the Springfield Missouri area we would love to have you visit us, just look us up!
You should know by now I had to at least have one picture...lol.

until next time... nel

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day aproaching."  Hebrews 10:24-25
