Hodgepodge 224

1. June is National Great Outdoors Month. Have you spent any time appreciating the great outdoors this month? If so where, and if not do you have any plans to enjoy the great outdoors before the calendar turns?
We have went fishing several times this month. Actually caught enough one day for supper.  Nothing like spending time on the bank of a pond, lake or river.  It is so relaxing and a good time to think! Planning on going again before the month is over, bet I use sunscreen next time!

2. What's a current hot button issue for you?

I have a problem when people are not allowed to display the American Flag in the United States, but others are allowed to step on it or set it on fire.  Don't even get me started on this!  That is just one of my hot button issues...there are a few more!

3. What's a food or treat that 'disappears like hotcakes' in your house?

Watermelon - I always cut it up and put it in Ziploc bags, so it is nice and cold.  I have learned you better get it quickly or you will miss out, we have a watermelon bandit in our house.  Shhhh don't tell anyone, it is my hubby!

4. How hot is too hot?

For me too hot is when you walk out the door and it is like walking into an oven. When there is no breeze and the humidity is so high and the air is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

5. Do you have an artistic outlook on life? What does that mean to you?

I like to think that I do.  Life is our Canvas, and what we put in to it  is our paint.  Each day is a new canvas, you can have a happy warm canvas or a fiery hot angry canvas.  I like a lot of soft blues and pastel colors, the beautiful colors of an awesome sunset or a rainbow after the storm.

6. What's one question you'd like to ask your father, or one you wish you could ask your father?

My Dad is in Heaven and there are so many things I wish I would of asked him.  Did he remember his Dad? And what his life was really like growing up without him. He was 5 years old when his Dad passed.  Would like to know what happened or what he died from.

7. Something you learned from your father?

I think I got my sense of adventure from my dad.  He was not afraid to try new things. He loved traveling to new places. I remember him telling me you are never lost, you might not know where you are going, but you can always enjoy the ride and see new places.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I have been working hard organizing, taking pictures, taking notes on items for Ebay.  I am on box #11 and have probably 5 or 6 more to go.  It will make it so much easier to list things on Ebay.  Fun times...busy work!

Confessions...

Ok, I have a confession to make - I was real proud of myself this morning I was all smiley and went over to From This Side Of The Pond, to copy the Wednesday Hodgepodge questions for the week. Here lately I have been late posting my answers or have totally missed it.  So I felt on top of the world, One of those I Got This feelings.  Well guess what, I forgot - No Hodgepodge this week.  Joyce is in the middle of moving so Hodgepodge is not happening this week.  And I totally understand but see that is how I have been rolling lately - totally forgot about it.

So needless to say I have to do some soul-searching about this Pride thing.  Maybe the Lord is trying to tell me something.

Here is to the Hodgepodge next week!  Will I be early...probably not!  But I will be there!

Late for Hodgepodge...

Better late than never...  I was messed up on my days for some reason.  We won't mention age or anything.  Here is my answers, where's yours?

1. What's something you're looking forward to in the month of June?
Relaxing, we have no plans at all.  Just taking one day at a time.

2. In what way have you come full circle?

I think life in general. I remember when my mom finally retired and she had time to enjoy her grandkids.  I guess it amazes me that I will be 60 in 2 years and that used to sound so old but now not so much, I don't feel 60.  But then I think about how I am at that stage where I am now watching my daughter raise her kids and I see myself in her.  But I am the one that is sitting back just enjoying them, watching them grow, taking in all the funny things they do and laughing at my daughter, telling her you were just like him or her.  So yeah, I guess my answer would be I have made the full circle in life.

3. Lonely Planet lists 10 spots in America you should see in 2015 and the reasons why. How many on the list have you seen? Which one on the list would you mostlike to see?

Queens NY, Western South Dakota, New Orleans, Colorado River Region, North Conway NH, Indianapolis IN, Greenville SC, Oakland CA, Duluth MN, and the Mount Shasta Region CA

I have seen 3 of the areas, but I have always wanted to go in to the SC region.

4. A song that describes your mood right now?

Definitely 'One Day At A Time'

I actually met Lynda Randle at a Women of Faith Seminar, She is awesome!  So down to earth and easy to talk to! And guess what I have a picture!

5. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry short cake, strawberry pie, or strawberries right off the vine...your favorite?

Strawberry Short Cake...now you are talking!

6. Aesop's birthday is celebrated on June 4th, although there is some disagreement as to whether or not that's accurate, or if he was even a real person. Regardless, the name Aesop is associated to this day with many well known fables. Which of the following best applies to something in your life right now? The Tortoise and the Hare (Slow and Steady wins the race), The Ant and the Grasshopper (Be prepared),The Fox and the Goat (Look before you leap) or The Crow and the Pitcher (Necessity is the mother of invention)?

The Tortoise and The Hare most definitely! Not really running a race but things are slow right now.

7. The answer is yes...what's the question?

Are you happy with your life right now?

8. Insert your own random thought here.

This month is our stay at home month.  Life is good.  There are so many little projects I would like to accomplish this month.  Just taking One Day At A Time!
Remember...Jesus Loves You!
