Hodgepodging New Year Style...

Glad you have dropped by.  It is time for Wednesday Hodgepodge, you know that fun time of the week where Joyce makes us think.  Good brain exercise!  It is a lot of fun and a great way to meet new bloggers.  If you would like to join in after you read my responses click on the button above and hop over to Joyce's and copy the questions, then of course link up so we can all enjoy your responses too!
Here are mine...

1.  What are three words you would use to describe your 2011?
Wow just three, see what I mean about making us think!  I would say:  roller-coaster, blessed and enjoyable.

2.  Do you like shrimp?  What's your favorite way to have it prepared?
I love it!  Have not had it alot of different ways, but I love breaded shrimp.  Also love shrimp dip that I make that you eat on crackers.  It is good boiled too, but I eat it with Tartar Sauce instead of the red sauce.  Patt makes a Stir Fry that has Shrimp in it on Rice. It has kind of a Sweet 'n Sour taste.  It is good also.

3.  Is your house de-Christmased?  If so when did you tackle that job?  If not, when will the decorations come down?
No it is not done yet, notice on previous post I am the Queen of Procrastination.  Thinking Thursday looks pretty good!

4.  Do you like to watch scary movies?
No - Nope - Notta!

5.  Ice skating - sledding - skiing - snowboarding - out of the four listed which wintertime activity do you most enjoy?
It depends are we actively participating or watching?  If we are doing it - sledding, although I have not done it in years.  The ground is farther away than it used to be!  If I am watching, I love ice skating... they look so graceful, or skiing.

6.  Did you have a childhood hideout?  Describe it.
I remember when I was real little we had one on the farm.  It was in the orchard, a fallen tree, that we had put weeds and brush up around.  There was a doorway and we could sit in there.  I remember one time leaving my chairs to my table set out there and I had to go get them after dark.  It was kind of scary.
With moving as I got older our basement was my hideout.  Had my music and a pool table down there.  Spent a lot of time there with cousins and friends.  Good memories...

7.  What's a place or space that motivates you?
Outside, just about anywhere, but I love to sit by a lake.  See when I think of motivation I think of creative motivation.  Wanting to create something or write something.

8.  Random...
I am writing this on the 3rd and it would of been my Daddy's 93 birthday.  Yesterday, it was 13 years since he passed, and I still miss him like it was yesterday!  Love you Dad!

until next time... nel

  1. Ha-yes indeed the ground is further away : ) I don't think it matters how long our parents have been gone from this earth. I know I still miss my dad too. Hugs to you today!

  2. The heart always remembers and that's a good thing. No one wants to be forgotten. My dad's been gone for 4 years - I understand the feeling.

  4. What a blessing to have had your dad for so many years!
My birth father died when I was two, but I was blessed with my dad when I was 5. He is still with us and is such a special part of our lives.
    Happy 2012!

  6. The years pass quickly, don't they? My dad's been gone 20 years, and mom's been gone 14...

I'm procrastinating on taking my tree down, too...

  7. I didn't have any decorations to de-Christmas this year, so that was an easy answer for me!

  11. As usual, your answers look perfect to me.

I too see myself as te Queen of Procrastination. Scarry movies - I don't like them either. As for my Dad, I miss him terribly.

  12. The childhood hide out was my fav. I had one, too: a cubby hole beneath our attic eaves where mother stored boxes, Christmas wrap & other little-used items. I could play in there for hours (never thinking about spiders).

I miss my Dad & my Mom so much, even today. They had me late in life, in their mid-40s. Dad's been gone since I was 16 (48 yrs), and Mom since I was 26 (38 yrs). I soooo look forward to seeing them again.

    Blessings,
    Kathleen
