Time Passes On...

Monday night we celebrated my daughter Janice's 30th Birthday, but today is actually the day!  It seems like yesterday she was this little shadow following me wherever I went.  I can remember at times locking the door to the bathroom so I could have just a few minutes to myself.  Is that bad?  I don't think so, I think it's part of being a momma.

When she started preschool she was not real thrilled, so we got her this little blue belt to wear that had a heart hanging down on a string. I told her when she really missed me to hold that heart in her hand and    I would be right there with her.  Several of the teachers said they would see her holding that heart in her hand during the day.  She would come home and say, "Mommy, you were wif me today," and of course that would tug at mine.  This worked great except she wanted to wear her blue belt with everything.  :)

Growing up she loved playing outside especially with her kitties.  Teddy Bear, a big yellow cat, was one of her favorites.  They were buddies, she would carry him around all over and she could do anything she wanted to him. He was her big baby, I think I even remember her dressing him in doll clothes once.

I love the strong independent woman she has become.  She is a loving wife, a wonderful momma, a beautiful daughter and one of my best friends.  She is not afraid to step out in faith and try new things, because she knows who her Heavenly Father is.  I now watch her interacting with her kids and it pulls at the heartstrings a little.  I can't help but wonder where did all those years go???  And then I smile because I know they are stored inside.  It's all about Memories...and now she is making new ones with hers!

Happy Birthday Babycakes!  I still love you bigger than the sky!

until next time...nel
