Thursday Tidbits...

Just a little recap on what's going on in my world lately.  I think maybe Spring is here. The trees are starting to get buds on them and the jonquils and irises are coming up.  I am so excited, I think my lilac bushes are going to be loaded in blooms this year.  I love lilacs.  Something about Spring, new life, new beginnings, Easter Celebrations!

I had a birthday last week - 58 years young.  What a celebration!  I received over 170 Birthday wishes on Facebook, a special email from our great grandson Ryan (Stan's grandson's boy). He is so precious.  And a special phone call from a young lady that has my heart. Eden Jade called and sung Happy Birthday to me.  My sweet daughter and SIL made my day.  They bought all of us tickets to a 35th Reunion Concert-Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee.  The Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour - talk about bringing back memories.  I went to their concert 35 years ago, back when I was single and crazy, good memories, but boy that made me feel old.

My sweet hubby made my day when we danced in the office to "I Will Always Love You."  He is so special, I Thank God every day for bringing him into my life!  That evening we went to the movies and out for dinner.  We had a really good time!

Last Thursday it rained off and on all day, it was so nice out!  I sat on our front porch steps for a long time.  While out there I had a visitor.  He was so cute!  And the more I talked to him the closer he got.  I could of reached out and touched him. When I got up and went for my camera I figured he would fly off and he did fly into the bushes.  When I sat back down and started talking to him, here he came.  He was not scared at all.  I really think he was to young to be scared.  And then a thought crossed mind...he's not scared because he knows God watches out for him.  God knows if he falls to the ground. He even cares about the little sparrow!

Life is Good!  Thank you Jesus!

Until next time...nel

'Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.'  Matthew 10:29

  1. What a great post Nel. Not only does God take care of the sparrow, he takes care of us. So why should we be afraid. I really needed that reminder. Thanks Nel!!

Happy Birthday and I'm glad it was such a wonderful one for you. I turn 58 in August. I didn't realize we are the same age. Again, Happy Birthday to you!

  4. I adore lilacs, one of the few things I can smell (auto immune disease killed my sense of smell). When I soak my feet in a basin of epsom salted water, I pour leftover water on lilac roots. Lilacs & russian sage do well w/ epsom salt. Gail
