Hopping back to the Hodgepodge...

It's time for Wednesday Hodgepodge.  Come on, join in the fun you know you want too.  Just click on the button and grab the questions over by Joyce.  You will be glad you did!

1. Share a favorite song, book, or movie title containing the word green?
Two songs came to mind - 'Little Green Apples' and 'Ballad of the Green Beret'  These are oldies!

2. Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying, 'Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.' Would you agree? Are you a believer in luck?
I don't necessarily believe in luck, I believe everything happens for a reason and God is in control.

3. Spring water, Hot Springs, handspring, spring fling, spring break, spring fever, offspring...which 'spring' word best applies to something in your day, week, or life right now?

I believe Spring Fever would apply right now.  At times I feel like I spend a lot of time just sitting and dreaming, thinking about flowers coming up, and little animals and things I want to get accomplished.  I am so over cold weather, and sweatshirts and jackets.  Come on Spring!

4. What's something you do to make yourself look or feel more confident?

Right at the moment I can't think of anything.

5.  It's National Celery Month...are you a fan? If so, what's a snack or dish you enjoy that calls for celery?

I like celery with a little Ranch Dressing on it.  Love it in my chicken salad or egg salad sandwiches.

6. What's one thing you wish you'd learned sooner?
My interest in Genealogy...how to track things down, and perhaps I would of asked my mom questions about her ancestors, if I would of been interested.

7. Would you like to own a second home? If so where would you want that home to be?
We have a second home in Arkansas.  It is small, but it is our home away from home.  I am glad it is there because my grand kids can still come to granny's!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Headed to Arkansas next week!  It is going to be a busy week.  The kids are out of school - Spring Break.  Was it not just Christmas?  My how time flies when we are having fun!  Lunch one day with a friend I used to work with. Tupperware party at the end of the week.  If anyone would like anything just click here on Janice's page and find my party.  I guess that is enough randoms...

until next time...nel

  2. I almost said Ballad of the Green Berets. My parents had the album, and I remember how that song in particular stirred up an emotion I couldn't name back then...a mixture of sadness and pride that I now would call patriotism. Enjoy your week in Arkansas!

  3. Your page looks so pretty. Everything goes with a little ranch dressing!!! My dad had a summer home and it was a great place for our children to go and be with their cousins. I will go over and check out Janice's page.

  4. I feel young because I don't think I've heard of either song you mentioned. Enjoy your brood in Arkansas. Bet that's gonna be fun.

  6. I love both of your song choices, they bring back memories :)
It's neat that you still have your house in Arkansas...so the kids can still visit granny's!

  8. Interesting answers, Nel. I like the idea of having an Arkansas 'away home.' Guess we will never be able to do that. I threaten to buy a little house in Florida just for winter living.

My cousin lives outside Garfield, Ark, and we have a nephew living in Bueno Vista. They don't seem to mind the winters. My cousin is two years younger than I am, I would think she would want to come further south for winters.

Thanks for visiting my Russia jaunt. I couldn't tell that you were doing alpha... this week. Perhaps tomorrow, I will look. I don't always recognize your entry on Mr. Linky's list.
