M is for Miracle
The online definition
includes:
1: an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human
affairs
2: an extremely
outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment
During Jesus’
ministry miracles were performed at different times, which was part of the
drawing of believers. Today we do not
see miracles as there were in Biblical times, however miracles do still
happen. Some people might call it happenstance,
chance or coincidence; I like to think of it as the Holy Spirit, or at times a
miracle.
If you ever
have been in the NICU at a Children’s Hospital you will believe in
miracles. My granddaughter was there
for 7 weeks. She had several things
going on in her tiny life. You can read
her story here. To look at
her now you would never know she had any problems. Yes we consider her our miracle baby.
A friend of mine has a little boy that just turned a year old this last
week. He weighed 1 lb and 6 oz and she
was only 23wks along. Yes God still
performs miracles.
‘And in that same hour he
cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many
that were blind he gave sight. Then
Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell
John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk,
the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the
gospel is preached. And blessed is he,
whosoever shall not be offended in me.’ Luke 7:21-23
‘Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.’
John
4:48
‘And many other signs truly
did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son
of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.’ John 20:30-31
How about you, do you
believe?
