N is for Need or Needs
The online dictionary shows
need as:
1: necessary duty as in obligation
2a : a lack of
something requisite, desirable, or useful
b : a
physiological or psychological requirement for the well-being of an organism
3: a condition
requiring supply or relief
4: lack of the
means of subsistence or
poverty
The Webster's Desk dictionary defines needs as: of necessity.
We all have
some of the same needs, food, water, clothing and shelter. These are our basic needs, however we have
other needs too. At times we have a
wanting or looking for something. We
feel empty inside perhaps like we are going in circles, trying different things
but nothing seems to fill that need.
Many lean towards alcohol or drugs just looking for something. The best way to fill that need is with Jesus
Christ.
‘And a woman having
an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians,
neither could be healed of any, came behind him and touched the border of his
garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all
denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng
thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me:
for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling,
and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for
what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole
go in peace.’ Luke 8:43-48
She had a need and she
believed Jesus could take care of it.
We have physical needs but we also have spiritual needs, we need to turn
them over to Jesus Christ.
So true!
