F is for Foundation
Following is the online
definition of foundation:
2: a basis (as a tenet, principle, or axiom) upon
which something stands or is supported <the foundations of
geometry> <the
rumor is without foundation in fact>
b : an organization or institution established by
endowment with provision for future maintenance
4: an underlying base or support; especially : the whole masonry substructure of a building
5a : a body or ground upon which something is built
up or overlaid
c : a cosmetic usually used as a base for makeup
For our purpose we will use:
a basis upon which something stands or is supported, an underlying base or
support, a body or ground upon which something is built up or overlaid. To stand strong in this world we must have a
solid foundation just like a building.
The foundation of our life needs to be Jesus Christ, not wealth, success
or fame. Jesus Christ needs to be our
rock!
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things
which I say? Whosoever cometh to me,
and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I sill shew you to whom he is
like: he is like a man which built an
house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the food arose, the stream beat
vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a
rock. But he that heareth, and doeth
not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth;
against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the
ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:46-49
“According to the grace of
god which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the
foundation, and another buildeth theron. But let every man take heed how he
buildeth thereupon. For other
foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:10-11
1 Corinthians 3:10-11
Are you building on the
solid foundation, Jesus Christ?
