B is For – Oh Man, I Can’t Make Up My Mind…

The title says it all, at times I have trouble making up my mind or choosing just one, so with that said and done:

B is for Bucket List and Barns.

Did you see the movie “Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? I thought it was a good funny movie. I love movies that will make you laugh, but more importantly I love movies that make you start thinking, and Bucket List did just that. I started thinking that being over 50, half my life is already gone, and there were things I still wanted to accomplish. So, yes I have a bucket list, not a lot on it but a few things. Here it is: I want to try my hand at painting, oil painting on canvas. I would like to try my hand at writing a book one of these days. I would like to do some more traveling and see: The Grand Old Opry and Nashville; Drive along the coastline from Washington to California; See the East Coast, and the lighthouses; See New York City, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island; Go into Canada; Do some genealogy research in Virginia; Spend some time at the Family Research Center in SLC, Utah; These are just a few things that are on top of my list, but I do also want to see my grandkids marry and have kids of their own.

Now for the 2nd part of this post – Barns are a passion of mine. I have a gazillion pictures of barns, I have often teased that one of these days I am going to publish a book on barns. My hubby is so funny he now know if we are driving down the road and I yell STOP, it is not an emergency, 95% of the time I seen a barn I want to take a picture of. Barns have always intrigued me. In my early years we lived on a farm that had a barn and I have fond memories there. To me a barn has character, most are different, and if they could only talk, the stories they could tell. Here are a few of my favorites:

  2. There's nothing I love more when visiting other blogs via the A-Z challenge than to discover something I have in common with the author. I too love barns. It's very hard for me to resist, much to my husband's shagrin, to not pull over to the side of the road and take a picture when I see an unique or half fallen down barn. It's like they have this great story to tell and I want to know all about it.

  4. Oh, Nel! You may have to come visit me in VA to do your research and snap pics of more barns. You can start with my 3, although they aren't quite as exquisite as the ones you posted! :)

Bucket List...I may have to watch the move and start a list.
