This week is definitely random. But still a lot of fun! The last question stumped me I had no idea. We would love for you to join us over at Lid’s place. She hangs out over at 2nd Cup of Coffee. It’s a pretty cool place! Not only can you link up over there, but also you can meet all kinds of new blogging buddies. She has a large following. So what are you waiting on? Oh wait you do need to read mine first, then just leave a little comment so I know you stopped by, and then go do it to it…
And here we go:
1. Ever had any run-ins with the "library police?"
No not the library police. lol
2. Do you have a special organizational plan and place for wrapping paper, gift bags, etc., or do you just purchase whatever you need as you give gifts?
Actually, I have bags up in my closet I recycle them. I usually do not buy wrapping paper, except Christmas. Call me cheap… I don’t care. lolol
3. Have you ever been in (first-hand witness) a natural disaster?
My 19th birthday there was a tornado where I lived. We actually watched it from 2nd story windows at work. I need to post about this one of these days.
4. What's your favorite Barry Manilow song?
I was never a big Barry Manilow fan, but I do like “Somewhere Down The Road.”
5. What's the best costume you've ever worn?
When I worked at Tastybird general office before Tyson bought us out we would dress up for Halloween. Jan was about 2 years old and I dressed as Aunt Jemima. She did not see me that morning after I dressed, but she did that night and she screamed. She would not have anything to do with me until I washed all the brown make up off, and she was still a little standoffish. I made me a long dark blue skirt and wore one of my dad’s blue dress shirts and a long white apron, then had a blue bandana around my head. I found a couple of pictures after the make up was removed. With the makeup on no one knew at first who I was, they had to look twice. It was a lot of fun.
Dictionary, have to pull it out every once in awhile, or use the one online.
7. What's your favorite breakfast food?
I love a good Western Omelet. At home I usually find myself eating cheese toast or toast with Nutella on it. Nutella is pretty good stuff!
8. Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial?
I did purchase a membership with SMC years and years ago. I checked it was in 1996. I still have it and periodically still order from there, but have never gotten serious about using it to make money.
9. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Hmmmm once upon a time when I locked myself out of my apartment probably in 1980. I was a little more bendable then…lolol.
10. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yeah, I think so. That is kinda how it was with Stan and me. We had chatted online, but I think when we actually met each other we knew.
11. How many pairs of jeans do you own?
Oh wow, not nearly as many as I used too… Probably 4 or 5.
12. If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be? (Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on "Ace of Cakes.")
Wow… you are really making us think this week. I am not sure… probably something to do with family or kids or my grandbaby. Maybe pictures of them airbrushed on. Or maybe a camera or a barn… A big barn! I am not very creative this week. I have no idea, can’t wait to read the others. Well duh…I just realized Ace of Cakes is a show… sorry have never watched it.
Now was that not just too much fun! Join in this week you will be glad you did.
I may be out of pocket for a little while, (I always thought that was such a strange saying.) we are off to Arkansas Thursday morning. We have the March of Dimes walk Saturday. They have rain forecasted down there, please pray for dry weather at least on Saturday. Thanks to those of you who have contributed, it is a good cause, and very close to my heart. Planning on getting a few days of spoiling time in while I am there. We will be coming back home next Tuesday. Well I am finished, you can go link up at Lid’s now…. lol.
until next time…nel

ReplyDeleteThe tornado must have been pretty scary! Enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteHi Nel-
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading your responses to Random Dozen. It's a terrific meme. I've always liked a good meme and now I have started my own. We just started a new meme called "Wednesday Wickedness" and will post on Tuesday afternoons. You are welcome to do it on Tuesdays, if you do only one meme a day! We are up and posted now. Each week we pick a famous person and find 10 quotes. Then each question is based on the quotes! This week is George Clooney. Check us out at http://jjatww.blogspot.com.
Thanks!
Janera
The last time I was in trouble with the library police I was a kid. I am all settled up and clear!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
I BET with that makeup you looked JUST like Aunt Jemima! Your face is just the right shape!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your weekend - and that it stays dry. I used to be very involved with MOD... these days I'm involved in Relay For Life. May God bless all your efforts!
Hi Nel! I haven't been blogging much of late but was determined to do the Random and get around to a few to comment.
ReplyDeleteA cake styled after a barn sounds like a great idea! Especially for those of us who loves barns, hm? :-)
Have a great time this weekend!
Have a lovely trip, Nel.
ReplyDeleteI love Barry Manilow and I had never heard that song before haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know about the song in your Arkansas slideshow as well... From now on I'm coming to your blog to learn about new music haha
I always enjoy these posts! Just so you know, I recycle gift bags, too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Arkansas!
Nutella is awesome! enjoyed your answers!
ReplyDeleteI, too, as a child dressed up as Aunt Jemima. I wore long black gloves and black stockings. The outfit down to the earrings looked just like her. It would be so politically incorrect now, but I loved that outfit. :P
ReplyDeleteWhat's SMC? I knew Duff and Ace of Cakes, but don't know much about infomercials.
You survived a tornado. WOW.
ReplyDeleteYou look great as Aunt Jemima.
Poor Jan.
I do not think you are cheap.
It is GREAT to recycle your wrappers!
