Flashback Friday At The Prom...

Linda is hosting Flashback Friday, so if you would like to join in, hop over to her space in blogland at Mocha with Linda and link up, so we can all enjoy reading your memories.

The prompt for this week was:

It's spring. And for many high schoolers, that means PROM!

Share your prom memories. Did your school have a junior prom or just a senior prom? What did you wear? Was there a party after the prom? Did you go with a date or with friends, and if it was a date, was it a one-time date or a boyfriend/girlfriend scenario? Did you go to more than one prom (like, being someone's date at another school or year.) Where was your senior prom held? Any particular songs come to mind when you think of prom? As always, pictures are great!

Sorry ladies, I have no wonderful stories to tell for this one. I did not go to either one of my proms. I was very shy and very quiet in school. I know that is hard to believe, now that you can’t get me to hush. Actually the main reason was no one asked. And that is ok, because most of the guys were either druggies or drinkers. And neither one interested me.

I did get my share of preparing for proms with my daughter though. She only went to 5 yes you heard me right 5. But it was fun. And my best memory of those special times were how when she came home, we sat and talked for at least 2 or 3 hours and she told me all about it. What everyone was wearing and who danced with whom. Special memories, I will never forget!

On the road again… Headed to Kansas City in the morning for the night. My hubby has some union business he has to take care of and lucky me I get to tag along!

I started to look for the song by Willie Nelson “On The Road Again” but I decided all of you could manage to live without hearing it.

I am really loving this life…

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

In Time For Random Dozen...

We made it home in time for a Random Dozen Post! I know you are so relieved and really excited! We had a wonderful time in Arkansas. We did not get to walk; it was cancelled due to a horrific thunderstorm. Bummer… But we did get our money turned in.
We did have a fun day of shopping, what else would a girl do on a free day? And believe me Eden Jade can shop with the best of them! The rain stopped about 30 minutes after the walk was cancelled, I think it was just a sign… we were supposed to shop! We did run in to a few issues in the Toys R Us parking lot, I will post about them later. We felt like we were part of CSI:Little Rock.
Ok now that I have peaked your interest or have you totally lost, let’s answer questions, the Random Dozen Questions that is:

1. Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid?

I have been lost a few times, but I always remembered what my Daddy always said. “You are never lost, you are just in new territory, and if you backtrack you should be able to find your starting point. And if not enjoy the adventure!” Needless to say, I have been on a few adventures.

2. Have you ever been to an island?

No I have not, would love to see Hawaii one of these years.

3. Are you more of a thinker or feeler?

Can I be both? lol. I think a lot of things thru, sometimes to much, but at the same time I go with my feelings. If it doesn’t feel right I don’t do it.

4. Do you tend to see issues or situations in life as black and white or shades of gray?

Pretty much black and white, I think. It is either right or wrong, no in between.

5. If you were stuck on an island, what book would you hope to have with you (Let's pretend the Bible is already there, so you can't say that.)

My journal, I would go nuts if I could not write my feelings down. And if I were stuck there, I better have a couple to write in.

6. What are you most afraid of?

My loved ones and friends dying and not knowing Jesus as their personal Savior!

7. Would you rather lose all of your old memories or never be able to make new ones?

I am all about making new memories; you cannot live in the past. I treasure my old memories, but new ones are so much fun to make.

8. Pretend I'm looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are three spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of, and why did you select them?

First would be the day my daughter was born. She is one of my best friends, and always has been.
Second would be the first time I got to hold my grandbaby Eden Jade, she was 3 ½ weeks old and was still in NICU, so it was bittersweet. But I knew all was going to be ok!
Third would be when I married Stan. He is my soul mate. Marrying him is one of the best things that ever happened in my life.

9. If you were re-doing your wedding, what would you do differently? (If you're single, tell me one thing you would do if you were planning a wedding OR huge party.)

Which one? Sorry couldn’t resist. I can’t think of anything that I would of done differently when I married Stan. It was everything I ever wanted.

10. Tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness.

I am a very forgiving person. I do not believe we should hold grudges, what good does it do? You know Jesus died on the cross to forgive us, if He can do that why can’t we forgive?

11. You're waiting in a doctor's office. What is your favorite way to pass that time?

I am a people watcher. I especially like to watch kids. If there is no one there, I will find a magazine to look at, even though they are usually old.

12. If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better

First of all, that is a very scary thought! I would hope she would be as organized as I tend to be and as forgiving as I am, also as patient as I am. I would hope they would not be a procrastinator. I am so bad about waiting to the last minute to do things.

OK There you have it, now it is your turn. Grab the questions, answer them, and then hop over to Lid’s at
2nd Cup of Coffee and link up, so we can all enjoy your answers too. Have a great week and keep checking back for CSI:Little Rock

Boy Talk About Random...

This week is definitely random. But still a lot of fun! The last question stumped me I had no idea. We would love for you to join us over at Lid’s place. She hangs out over at 2nd Cup of Coffee. It’s a pretty cool place! Not only can you link up over there, but also you can meet all kinds of new blogging buddies. She has a large following. So what are you waiting on? Oh wait you do need to read mine first, then just leave a little comment so I know you stopped by, and then go do it to it…

And here we go:

1. Ever had any run-ins with the "library police?"

No not the library police. lol

2. Do you have a special organizational plan and place for wrapping paper, gift bags, etc., or do you just purchase whatever you need as you give gifts?

Actually, I have bags up in my closet I recycle them. I usually do not buy wrapping paper, except Christmas. Call me cheap… I don’t care. lolol

3. Have you ever been in (first-hand witness) a natural disaster?

My 19th birthday there was a tornado where I lived. We actually watched it from 2nd story windows at work. I need to post about this one of these days.

4. What's your favorite Barry Manilow song?

I was never a big Barry Manilow fan, but I do like “Somewhere Down The Road.”

5. What's the best costume you've ever worn?

When I worked at Tastybird general office before Tyson bought us out we would dress up for Halloween. Jan was about 2 years old and I dressed as Aunt Jemima. She did not see me that morning after I dressed, but she did that night and she screamed. She would not have anything to do with me until I washed all the brown make up off, and she was still a little standoffish. I made me a long dark blue skirt and wore one of my dad’s blue dress shirts and a long white apron, then had a blue bandana around my head. I found a couple of pictures after the make up was removed. With the makeup on no one knew at first who I was, they had to look twice. It was a lot of fun.

6. Which do you use more often, the dictionary or the thesaurus?

Dictionary, have to pull it out every once in awhile, or use the one online.

7. What's your favorite breakfast food?

I love a good Western Omelet. At home I usually find myself eating cheese toast or toast with Nutella on it. Nutella is pretty good stuff!

8. Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial?

I did purchase a membership with SMC years and years ago. I checked it was in 1996. I still have it and periodically still order from there, but have never gotten serious about using it to make money.

9. Have you ever crawled through a window?

Hmmmm once upon a time when I locked myself out of my apartment probably in 1980. I was a little more bendable then…lolol.

10. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Yeah, I think so. That is kinda how it was with Stan and me. We had chatted online, but I think when we actually met each other we knew.

11. How many pairs of jeans do you own?

Oh wow, not nearly as many as I used too… Probably 4 or 5.

12. If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be? (Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on "Ace of Cakes.")

Wow… you are really making us think this week. I am not sure… probably something to do with family or kids or my grandbaby. Maybe pictures of them airbrushed on. Or maybe a camera or a barn… A big barn! I am not very creative this week. I have no idea, can’t wait to read the others. Well duh…I just realized Ace of Cakes is a show… sorry have never watched it.

Now was that not just too much fun! Join in this week you will be glad you did.

I may be out of pocket for a little while, (I always thought that was such a strange saying.) we are off to Arkansas Thursday morning. We have the March of Dimes walk Saturday. They have rain forecasted down there, please pray for dry weather at least on Saturday. Thanks to those of you who have contributed, it is a good cause, and very close to my heart. Planning on getting a few days of spoiling time in while I am there. We will be coming back home next Tuesday. Well I am finished, you can go link up at Lid’s now…. lol.

Arkansas trip finally... and on the way again!

Life has been crazy lately, but I decided I needed to post a few pictures since we were headed to Arkanas again this weekend. We will be walking in the March of Dimes walk this Saturday. Please remember us in prayer. Without March of Dimes research Eden Jade would not be here. A cause that is very close to my heart!

Below is a few pictures we took while in Arkansas. The kids are getting so big. Eden amazes me, she has come so far in her little life. I love it her hair is getting long enough for a little pony tail, hopefully one of these days I can french braid it for her. I laugh at her because she has so many expressions, and they are never the same. Just so you know the picture with the flowers in her hand, I had just mentioned don't pick Granny's flowers, but she already had. And she said, Oh granny I was just thinking I needed to pick some more...lol. And no she did not pick anymore. I did let Cain pick a couple since she had. They definitely keep me on my toes! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Does Anybody Hear Her...

This song has been on my heart this week. Maybe thinking back over my life while doing the “100 items that pertain to me” post reminded me, “I was once that girl that was running.” It made me wonder how many people are right around us that we do not even realize are running. My prayer is that Jesus will open up our eyes and let us see those around us who need our friendship, who need a kind word, who need Him. And that we will see them thru loving eyes.

Does Anybody Hear Her?
by Casting Crowns

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying but the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning for shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching for a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we've never even met her

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we've never even met her
Never even met her, never even met her

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

He is running a hundred miles an hour
In the wrong direction

Do You Have A Flashback...

Flashback Friday can be found over with Linda at
Mocha with Linda. This is a fairly new meme, and it is just the most fun! Why don’t you check out the prompt below, think back over your life and then share glimpses of your past with us? It is a lot of fun and you meet a lot of nice people. Make sure you link back up, so we can all enjoy your memories.

Are you ready for a flashback? Following is the prompt for this week’s flashback:

If you have a child in your life, your calendar for April and May is probably quickly filling up with end-of-year activities - performances, recitals, etc. Did you take lessons as a child? Piano or another instrument? Gymnastics or dance? Other types of lessons? Were they weekly? How much were you required to practice between lessons? Did you participate in recitals? If so, do any of them stand out in your memory? Did they foster a love or a hate for that activity? Did you want to take lessons in a certain thing that you never got to? And if you have kids now, how did your experiences with taking lessons like these impact the activities you had/have them do?

I was never involved with after school activities, never allowed to join Brownies or Girl Scouts. My parents did not trust anyone and always told me that you had to be careful. And at the time I hated it that I couldn’t, and stayed upset with my parents especially my mom about it most of my childhood especially after I was in high school. As I got older I realized why they looked at things the way they did. Let me share some background: My mom and dad were both from the south they were not well educated. Neither one of them went to school past the 6th grade. They moved to the Chicago area after WWII to make a living. Needless to say they were laughed at a lot, and had a hard time fitting in. Now, I realize they were trying to protect us. So no I was not involved in anything after school.

I did however take piano lessons when I was in the 3rd grade. Actually, I wanted to learn how to play the organ. I even begged and pleaded my case, but my mom won out and Dad bought a piano. I took lessons once a week, but my heart really was never in it. It was hard because the piano was in the living room, so if my dad was home I could not practice, because he was watching TV. During the winter it was really hard because he was laid off from work due to the weather, so he was always home. He was a cement laborer. Needless to say, I was not very excited about the lessons due to the situation. Looking back now I realize my dad did not co-operate at all, which was unusual. I wonder if it was because of the teacher. He was a man about their age maybe a little younger, but he changed my lessons to 9:00 Saturday morning. The thing is he always showed up around 8:15 about the time mom had breakfast on the table for my dad. She always made biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage or bacon and fried potatoes. And she would always invite the teacher to eat with us. I can never remember her turning anyone away from her table, she always cooked enough for an army. Funny how you notice things, as you get older that you never even thought about before...

I can still play a little and if I worked at it now, I think I could probably pick it up. I would love to have a keyboard and try.

As my daughter was growing I always tried to encourage her to get involved, but she was never interested. She was always very shy and a homebody!

Well that about sums it up, not a lot to reminisce about. Memories are so precious! Would love to have you join us. Come on, how can you resist? Click on the link in the beginning and join us at Linda’s corner. You will have a good time!

Random Time Again and Happy Birthday...

Random Dozen time again. You know the drill, answer the questions then link up with Lid at 2nd Cup of Coffee. It is a lot of fun and you will meet all kinds of friendly blogging buddies.

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals, also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay?

They don’t do much for me, I am so short and have such wide feet. But I do like them on other people.

2. What is your favorite pizza?

Supreme all the way - Italian sausage, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese, and occasionally pepperoni thrown on there. I made homemade pizzas in Arkansas…mmm good!

3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could?
[Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.]

Well it would have to be from some other set. I have never watched Star Trek, at all. I know, I told you I am weird. Let me think… Ok if I got to pick I would say John-Boy’s journals that he wrote in from The Waltons.

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for.

Lambert’s – Home of the thrown rolls. It is actually in Ozark but not to far south from us. Good food! Awesome rolls! Go early, they get very busy!

5. What is your current favorite snack?

Saltine crackers, have had the Cheese and Peanut Butter crackers also. Keebler brand, they are the best!

6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.") A. Dancing with the Stars B. Biggest Loser C. Survivor

It would have to be Biggest Loser. I can’t dance and move like they do. Survivor would be out. Biggest Loser is the only one I might have a chance at. Would love to lose some weight.

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior?

About a 5 – it needs a good vacuuming and wiping down then it would look pretty good.

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until _________.

Everything starts blooming, the robins start pulling worms up for their babies and the fish start biting.

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is ____.

A joke I received on email. I don’t really remember what it was, because I already deleted it. But I remember laughing and laughing.

10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward.

A goal – I want to get all of my mom’s pictures scanned and put on cd’s for my brothers.

11. Share a thought-provoking or inspiring quote this week.

"Death is not a period, but a comma in the story of life."

I believe it is just the beginning!

12. Name one thing that you do as a parent that you absolutely know will make your kids happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute "friend" or nomenclature that works for you.

I am trying to go thru all my pictures and more especially my mom’s pictures and put names on the back. Because there is a lot that she will have no idea who they are.

Now wasn’t that fun! Oh come on you know it was! Why don’t you link up and join us.

Now we interrupt this Random Post to wish 2 very special people a Happy Birthday. That’s right a Happy Birthday. My sweet husband and his bigger twin are celebrating their 71st birthday today. Stanley and Sterling alias Rocky. They grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska. Rocky lives in Juniata, Nebraska now. They may not look alike but their personalities are very similar. I hope you both have a wonderful day!

100th Post... No Way!

Yes, to my amazement I entered my 100th post last Saturday. Totally caught me off guard, I knew it was close, just not that close. So without further explanations I am posting "100 Things That Pertain To Me." Now please try not to get too excited, I know it is hard to contain yourselves. 18. I tried to get him to change his mind, even let him come home twice, but he always went back to her.

19. The last time he left, I went looking for him, I was pissed! He upset Jan, not because he left, but because he was gone when I got home. It was my birthday. You can mess with me, but don't mess with my kid... it is a good thing I did not find him that night! Our divorce was final in Nov. 2000.

20. Mom had moved in with us the year after Dad passed away.

21. In 2002 I had to have a pacemaker, due to an electrical short that I was born with, which was triggered by stress. (go figure!) Thank God for technology, I would not be here without it. My heart did not just slow down, I was flat lining.

51. In 1988, my dad was in the hospital and they did not think he was going to make it.

75. I love poetry, always have!

76. I love genealogy, it is so addicting.

77. Would love to spend some time at the Archive Records researching.

85. I love collecting recipes, and trying new ones.

86. I miss going mushroom hunting. When Janice was growing up we would go out and look for Morels.

87. When going thru some of my mom's stuff, I found a Homestead Act that has my great grandpa Beavers (my dad's grandpa) name on it. It was in 1906 and signed by the president Teddy Roosevelt. I thought that was pretty cool!

88. I hated History when I was a kid, but the older I get the more I enjoy it. I love to read about pioneer families and enjoy researching families.

89. I enjoy visiting Historical places. Battlegrounds, Home places, etc.

90. I love to travel - would love to see all the states. There is so much to offer right here in the United States.

91. We put 4,986 miles on the car when we took our trip this last summer.

92 We entered 11 states, some just the edge, but we crossed the line. It was a wonderful trip.

93. As my daughter was growing up, I was very active in the church. I was the youth leader for many years. We had a great time... They were a great group of kids, who were on fire for the Lord!

94. I found the little dress I came home from the hospital in, and my hospital bracelet and the card off the bassinet.

95. I intend to make a shadow box out of these.

96. My hubby and I are friends with my ex and his wife. She actually is one of my friends. We usually see them at Jan's when we are in Arkansas. I truly believe everything happens for a reason! Makes it a whole lot easier on my daughter.

97. When I was still in Illinois, I bowled with the group from work. We started right after work and would not get home till early morning. I was known at the bar as the Schnapps lady. I am not mentioning this to brag. Far from that, I am mentioning it to show what the Lord can do with a life and how He can totally change it, if you have faith and believe!

98. I have an area I have to pray about continuosly, I do not have compassion for someone who is not trying to help themselves. Or someone who is wallowing in self-pity. You have to shake yourself off, pick yourself up and move forward. Or if you are sick, go to the doctor, do something about it.

99. I also have a problem with people who are judgemental. Don't make accusations just because someone may not be dressed or look as good as you. Don't look down on people because of their social level.

100. I am so glad this is over. I love to talk, and this was hard!

Thanks for sticking it out with me. I hope that gives you a better glimpse of who I am. I am sorry if I repeated anything, but I will blame that on age if I did. lol.
That's my story and I am sticking to it.

I just want to say when I started this I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. I appreciate each and every one of you, especially those who leave comments and let me know that you were here. You are not only my blogging buddies, but I am proud to call you friends! Thanks.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Do You Have A Song...

Amy at Signs, Miracles, and Wonders hosts a meme titled "Then Sings My Soul Saturdays." It is a lot of fun and I have heard several new songs just in the short time I have been participating. So why don't you join us and share what is on your heart this week. Just hop over at her corner and link up with us!

I heard this song at the concert we attended, and I can't get it out of my head. Because that is the way it is... We are just waiting on our ride! Praise God!

Lyrics: I'm Just Waiting For My Ride
Written by Ronnie Hinson
I may leave by the grave
I may have to wait for the horn
Anyway I go I'm saved
Looking for that glorious morn
It may be a chariot it may be a cloud
But I'm gonna hear that rumbling loud
He's gonna roll me over to the other side
In the twinkling of an eye I'm gonna fly
I'm just waiting for my ride
Chorus:
I won't be fumbling for my keys
No filling up my tank with gas
He's gonna come and I'm gonna leave
Going all the way first class
I don't know when or how or where
But I'll go sailing right through the air
Heaven will swing those gates out open wide
I'm headed for the highest high when He swings by
I'm just waiting for my ride
I've got everything packed
I won't have to stand in line
Going and I'll never look back
Passing all the planets I'll climb
It may be tomorrow or it may be today
I won't have to ask are you going my way
I'll be ready when the Lord says step inside
Standing on His word right by this curb
I'm just waiting for my ride
REPEAT CHORUS
You may think you're going to stay forever
You haven't pulled your traveling plans together
But I know He'll be right on time arriving And when I take my trip
God's gonna do the driving
REPEAT CHORUS
I'm just waiting for my ride
I'm just waiting for my ride

Birthday Flashbacks...

I know I am late, but better late than never right? It has been a crazy sort of day, and then tonight we went to a gospel concert here in Springfield. We heard Second Generation, Hoppers and Gold City. They played from 6:30 until 10:20. It was awesome!

Ok Birthdays, Flashback Friday was about birthdays this week, so let’s talk about birthdays. Birthdays around our house always was a special day. We always had cake and ice cream, and usually a few cousins would come over. When I became a teenager I always had sleepovers, with several friends. We had a basement with a pool table and a stereo. What more did you need? Oh right, there was always food and pop. My mom would always try to scare us at the windows or at the laundry chute. It was fun times, good memories.

I can remember one in particular that was so cool. I turned seven, and at the time my oldest brother and his wife lived on the farm in a trailer beside our house. So my sister-in-law (at the time) helped get a party together for me. We had balloons and decorations and games. A huge cake, it was so cool, because I got to invite my whole class. There were a lot of kids there along with cousins. It was a lot of fun. Below are a few pictures, would you believe I still have the tea set. It is all there and nothing is broken! The card was from my first admirer, I ran across that while going through some stuff. Paul Mikos, have no idea whatever happened to him. lol Such good memories.

And of course with the good there is always the bad. My nineteenth birthday, my mom was having cake and ice cream and relatives over. But those plans were changed when the tornado came thru our town that afternoon. Our roof was damaged and electricity was out, so no party at the Beavers’ household. We did eat cake by candlelight tho.

Then there was my 24th birthday. I was living in Arkansas by that time. A group of us that hung out in Appleton together decided we were going to the horse races for my birthday. I had never been, and Randy offered to take me, and another couple of friends. The problem is we never got to go. Randy was killed in a freak accident while working and was buried on my birthday. Not a good year.

My 50th birthday was awesome. My daughter and my hubby thru a surprise party and I had no clue until I got there. There were friends and family there and it was a lot of fun despite the tombstone cake and the black all around.

Well there are my birthday stories…. Sorry I am so late! Maybe next week will be better. lol But don’t hold your breath… If you would like to join in the fun link up with Linda over at Mocha with Linda.

April Randoms...

Guess what? It is that wonderful time we look forward to every week. Yes you got it, that time when Linda over at 2nd Cup of Coffee makes us think. The questions are random, the answers are really random, but what fun we have! Join us this week and share a little bit of your world with us.

So Here We Go...

1. Define a great relationship.

Wow… that’s deep. I think one of the major points of a great relationship between couples is trust. You have to have trust! You love each other even thru the bad times. And it needs to be Christ-centered. My daughter and I have a great relationship; always have, even in those teen years. I think one of the most important things is I always had time for her. No matter what I was doing if she needed to talk or show me something I made time for her. It made her feel important, it reinforced that I cared, I loved her unconditionally.

2. Why is it called a "drive-through" if you have to stop? (Real question: What was the last food/drink you purchased at a drive-through?)

I like the real question a lot better! lol. Last Saturday, as we were coming home from Omaha we made a stop at Wendy’s. And we both had a Chocolate Frosty. Mmmmmm the best! We were so excited when they put a Wendy’s on our side of Springfield. I said we were excited, I didn't say it was a good thing... lol

3. As I type this, the Butler Bulldogs are getting ready to play in the NCAA championship game. Every Hoosier is hysterical about this except me. So in honor of the Bulldogs ... what is your favorite breed of dog? (I tried.)

I love all puppies. But cocker spaniels tend to tug at my heart. They are so expressive with their big puppy dog eyes and those big droopy ears that get in to everything. I miss my Dustydog!

4. If you had to move to a state besides the one you currently live in, where would you move?

Such a silly question - Arkansas, hands down.

5. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

This is a hard one. Everything we go thru and overcome or enjoy makes us who we are today and I like who I am. When I was in school, I was not allowed to join in any activities or extra curricular programs. That I wish would have been different, I think I would of enjoyed high school more, instead of blocking it out of my memory.

6. Who's the funniest person you know?

My hubby is pretty funny. I love his sense of humor, most of the time. lolol. Eden Jade is pretty funny too. She is already becoming the comedian. I foresee an unlimited amount of parent/teacher conferences in my daughter’s future.

7. Did you get enough sleep last night?

Yes I think so. I have not had my diet coke yet this morning and I am answering these. We went to bed about 1:00 and I woke up about 9:00. So 8 hours

8. What's the first thing you thought about this morning?

oooo ooo I gotta go pee. (you asked!)

9. Grilled or Fried? --HONESTLY

Some things I like grilled, but I prefer fried, as long as it is not greasy.

10. Are you afraid of the dark?

Not at all, I am never alone, He is always with me!

11.When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I am really not sure; I do not remember ever wanting to be anything. That is sad.

12. If you had one word to describe yourself , what would you choose?

Fulfilled! I have a husband who adores me and spoils me rotten. I have a beautiful daughter, Grandchildren that light up my life, friends and family that are very special to me. And a relationship with Jesus Christ that assures me I will have a home in Heaven when I leave this world. What more do you need?

Well that is it for this week folks! Join in the fun over at Linda’s.

We have had a busy time in the Fastenau household lately. It feels good to be home and not have anyplace we have to get to. I have some pictures of Eden to share on a later post. Just trying to catch my breath for a day or two. I have to get caught up on reading blogs also, how I have missed that!

until next time… nel
